Artists’ statement:

In the past my ceramics have been in the shapes of boats. After several years of using them as a vehicle to express my thoughts and tell stories, I find that the boats have increasingly evolved into bird shapes. Birds have the freedom to travel thousands of miles and this is acceptable; wouldn’t it be great if humans had tolerance for others as birds do, and allow people to cross over borders and, hopefully, into the arms of safety ?
