Sharon Hodgson-Riley ¨C Australia

The ancestral spirits are dancing remnants of a culture. A people present for thousands of years, ashes of ancient fires, middens and tool flakes remain. The ceremonial fire is missing. Places, shelter from storm, fresh water and the breeding grounds for natures many creatures. Fishes, shell fish and animal habitats are invaded. Colours of ancient ochre stones found on the beach, ground to paint with brushes made from feathers found on the beach. Nature, she provides. The lore that was given to us was to care for and protect the sacred land. Strangers come, want to possess and conquer natures beauty. Build houses, monuments to human. Want to clear the land, crush the fragile bush, the native flowers, they destroy, fresh water and habitat even wombat echidna and koala. Polluting makes money and filth and death. Trespassers be gone you defile sacred ground.
