Flower Shadows is one of a series of paintings which use motifs taken from the vine, fruit, seeds, and flower of the passionfruit plant. The series explores the interconnecting relationship between the external and internal world of life¡¯s natural cycles such as the seasons, night and day, growth and decay, fragility and strength. These themes are inspired by Celtic Art and Philosophy, and by the luminous colours of Medieval Illuminated Manuscripts.
