Maureen Slatter Australia
¡®The Mulga¡¯; the title of my painting, is a colloquial expression meaning ¡°the outback, remote or sparsely populated country¡±. The view depicted is in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia. The colours of this land are quite unique; they can be quite harsh and dry and hot, but in the spring, when I was there, they were soft and gentle with the pink shades of the earth permeating the landscape. I love the colours of Australia, they are a source of inspiration for the artist.
