Kyeongmi An

The side of a bowl is a barrier that separates the inside from the outside of the world, thus, she bratticed the Korean alphabet on the side to break the bowl’s monotonousness, while instilling Korea’s pride and self-esteem.

She established the pathway between inside and outside, which could be the cultural passage, and echoed her story beyond the given place by displaying unique beauty of the Korean alphabet in the Yin and Yang places.

The fundamental use of a bowl is merely one of the traditions and stereotypes; thus, the bowl’s flowing curve metamorphoses into a new artistic element by encountering with the Korean alphabet.
