Terms and Conditions for Her Presence in Colours VIII - International Women Artists' Exhibition-Beijing 2008

1.   Theme: Dream of Peace

2.   Date: April 11- 25, 2008  Opening ceremony:  April 11, 2008  at 10:30

3.   Venue: China National Art Gallery ( No 1 Wusi Street, Beijing China)

4.   Organizers: International Women Artists Council-INWAC, International Women Artists– China (INWAA-China) and China National Art Gallery , Chinese People's     Association for Friendship with Foreign Countires and  All-China Women's Federation.

5.   Art Conference:
a)China National Art Gallery, Conference Room , level 7 at 4:00—16:00

6.  Artwork:
Artists are asked to submit an artwork that reflects an issue that is related to the theme: Dream of Peace.
One piece of artwork per artist in any media. Dimensions of artwork not to exceed 1.5m including frame.

Framing and hanging requirements:
Participants from outside Korea can choose from the following options:
Artists are responsible to make their own framing. All artworks submitted must be properly framed.  Works on paper use plexi sheet or Perspex and a strong wire attached. Please avoid glass.

Insurance of artworks:
to be borned by the individual artist.

Participating artists will have to organize insurance for the time that their artworks are traveling to and from Korea, as the organizers can not be responsible for any loss or damage to artworks traveling to or from the exhibition venue.

Sale of artwork: If you wish to sell your work, please indicate a price for your artwork. A commission of 30 % of the selling price will be charge on the sale of artwork.

7. Publication-
1000 full-colour catalogues will be produced to accompany this art exhibition. The catalogue will feature all participating artists, from the various countries. Each artist will have one page in the catalogue, which will display a photograph of their artwork, the artwork's medium and dimensions, a photograph of the artist, brief biography and an artists statement related to the theme ;  up to 300 words

 Each artist will receive two copies of the catalogue. Sponsors will also receive some catalogues.

8. Registration fee:
    200 US for each participant, to be paid on or  before 15 October 2007
Any extra charge for bank transfer have to be borne by the individual artist.

9. Submission of Forms:

Each participating artist is required to complete and send all the following information on or before 15 October 2007 to:

Please ensure you have:-

q       Completed the confirmation statement.

q       Completed the  artist's profile/biography in English – mximum 300words.

q       Completed the ARTIST FORM.

q       Completed the artists statement for the theme Dream of Peace; artists can write at least one sentence or up to 300 words.

q       Payment for the registration fee in the form of Cheque/Bankdraft/Proof of payment through Bank transfer.

 

10. Transport of artwork:

 

(a) Each participating artist is responsible for the transportation of her work to and from the following venue:- China Art Gallery by April 10. 2008.

 

* Artists who are coming to China can carry their work with them but must arrive at China Art Gallery by April 10, 2008.

 

(b) The cost of transportation, including travel insurance to and from the China National Art Gallery must be borne by the individual artists.

 

 

11. Sale of artwork

 

If your work is for sale. Please give a price that you want ( the cost price for artist, not inclusive of commission). The organizing committee will decide later about the selling price and other details.

 

12. Accomodation

 

the organizer will provide the details about hotel rate/accommodation for women artists from foreign countries.
