I have used lines and shades of color to represent an awareness and affinity to the world I live in. The use of oil paint, large brushes and pallet knives, gives a sense of freedom, allowing myself to be carried away by impromptu and spontaneous feelings.

A freeing of the self from the rules and logic made by man, towards the infinite.

The artwork “IN or OUT? – A Self Portrait” represents a reflection of my inner self. “Where do I belong within the inter-related aspects of Eastern nature (serene) and Western culture (energy)?” The ambiguity of color and form hint at nature, yet the incorporation of a figure gives rise to the question, “What is man, and what is his connection to this nature?”

Through painting I want to create a distinct representation of the world and our place within it.
