I was born in Ohio and reared in the then-small town of Naples, Florida. In 1963, I attended Principia College in Elsah, Illinois--majoring and graduating in Studio Art and Elementary Education in 1967. There began a 40+ year learning experience which has included classes at Washington University in St. Louis, Portland State University, Pacific NW College of Art, Portland Community College and many classes with professional and internationally recognized painters throughout the United States.
Working full time as a teacher, 5 years as a dormparent in a boarding school and raising 3 children, the painting was put on hold for a few years, although its influence never left the classroom. My students were always involved with appreciating art as well as many hands-on activities. In 1990 my creativity emerged with exuberance for water media. After remarrying in 1994, I was able to finally dedicate time to my art. (website: www.sgreenbaumart.com)
