Artist Statement

A painting is created by one’s cultural background, ideology, totem and innermost emotions expressed through the use of color and paint brush on different mediums.

In most of my paintings, I often use bright colours to present a feeling of joy and freedom which display the essence of my unadorned spirit and innermost desires.

After my participation in “Her Color Space – 2006 World Female Artist South Korea Exhibition”, I strongly feel that even though art is established on different thoughts and domains, but it also manages to pull many artists closer together by the exchange of personal experiences and emotions. Throughout this exhibition, everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is so harmonious.  Therefore, I believe art has no boundary and it is the common language of the world.

If the entire world can adopt this kind of tolerance and acceptance of each other as evident in the artistic world; if people make an effort to reduce unnecessary wars and march on together towards a greater purpose, then I believe there will be peace, joy and hope for the future.
