Yuen Chee Ling started oil painting at the age of 13. Awarded scholarship for Creative Art Course at USM (1980-81); University Scholar - University of the Philippines (1983); Graduated Bachelor of Fine Art Degree (1985) Master of Fine Arts Degree (1986). Completed PhD –USM (2007). Co founder cum Director / Principal of Conservatory of Fine Arts since 1989. Founder / President of the International Women Artists Council (INWAC) who initiated Her Presence In Colours – International Women Artists Exhibition Series since 1993.
Acclaimed for her unique figurative style of the
Pan Asian Women-type, she had held 14 solo exhibitions in Malaysia,
Taiwan, Thailand and Abu Dhabi – published 9 books on her works. Listed
in ”20th Century
Women Artists” (1996). More than 100 write-ups on her art were published
in newspapers and magazines. Her paintings were selected to grace
the cover of Reader’s Digest, the Expats (2000)...
She is the writer of numerous articles on women and art, most recently
authoring: Woman by Women and Batik As Art. Her works are
in the collection of National Art Gallery, USM Museum, Abu Dhabi
Cultural Foundation Center, Pacific Bank, Bangkok Metropolitan Bank and
numerous local and international collectors. 出生于马来西亚槟城. 13 岁开始自学油画。获文化部奖学金进修艺术创作（1980）；菲律宾国立大学杰出学员荣誉（1983）；菲律宾国立大学艺术学士及艺术硕士文凭（1985-1986）；修完博士(2007）。1989年创办榔艺术学院并担任院长至今。她是世界国际女艺术家理事会总会长，策划[她的彩色空间-亚洲/世界女画家联展系列在世界各国展出。
她以独创的人物风格描绘亚太区女性风貌著称。曾在国内外举办过14次个人画展及世界各国展出百余次。作品及个人履历被录入中国档案出版-《朴玉集-二十世纪中国女艺术家作品荟萃》。作品获马来西亚国家美术馆,马来西亚国家银行，曼谷京都银行，丹麦文化中心，阿布达比文化基金馆及世界各国私人收藏家典藏。出版个人画集共9次。油画作品获刊登于读者文摘
等，Expat,Hotel 等杂志封面.
有关源子玲的评论文章已刊载的不下百余篇。曾为报刊择写专栏及担任国际女性/术论坛主讲者；著作：《女人画女人》和《蜡染画》等.
