Artist Statement

I love art as it allows me to express myself freely. Through art, I learn to observe things and I have realized that all things are equally important. For me, to take part in exhibition is to share our thoughts and insights with others. There is always something new and interesting to discover from others like when I discover some innovative works with hidden meaning. Art is like  a hidden treasure. My work "Peace Subconscious "reflects my concept about peace.  

我热爱艺术因为艺术是我表达我个人的的情感和思想的方式。艺术让我学习观察周围的事物, 从艺术的视觉角度观察所有有形的东西，无论是生物或静物, 都是一样重要。 

对一位艺术家来说, 笔是她用来表达的工具, 色彩是用来传达有关个人的情绪的讯息.  画展对画家来说是一种推动和激励.  通过展出, 让来自各地的画家聚集, 赏画, 交流, 沟通, 互相观摩和学习, 以补助各自所欠缺的, 也有助开拓视野眼界。 偶尔参观画展会有以外惊喜，因为发现一些富创意和暗喻性的作品。 这次展出主题为 ” 和平之梦” , 我的画 “和平之潜意识” 代表我个人对和平的看法。

Born 1954 in Johore, Malaysia.Studied Fine Art at Universiti Sains Malaysia . Graduated BA (Hons) Fine Arts (2000) and Master Technology Education (2004). Currently, she serves as art teacher and has become the head of the Art Department in school. She is a member of “The Penang Teachers’ Art Circle” and the Secretary of Penang Oil Painting Society. She has participated in many group exhibitions including Penang Pesta Art Exhibition, Penang State Art Gallery (2000- 2007) ; “Transition-The Dynamic Passage Of  The Penang Teachers’ Art Circle”, Kuala Lumpur. The Penang Teachers’ Art Circle Anniversary Exhibition, Penang State Art Gallery. (2002) Penang Oil Painting Society Exhibition, Penang  State Art Gallery, Penang. ( 2002-2007) USM Alumni Art Exhibition, Galeri Pusat Pengajian Seni USM, Penang. Woman By Women (11 women artist exhibition) Galeri Art Point, Penang & Shian’s  Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur.( 2006) and ”Her Presence in Colours –  International Women Artists Exhibition series” held in  Australia (2004) and Korea (2006) . Lee Hui Lan is at home with oil, acrylic and water colour painting.

 

1954年生于马来西亚柔佛州。毕业于马来西亚师训学院.  2000年理科大学美术系毕业，2004 教育硕士毕业。 目前在中学教美术并担任美术主任。她是槟城油画协会秘书。她的创作媒介是油画, 亚克立 及水彩。  作品曾在各地画廊/美术馆展出，其中包括[她的彩色空间-亚洲/世界女画家系列联展]在马来西亚及韩国美术馆/画廊展出（2004- 2006）和槟城画廊举主办的美术教师常年展 ( 2000-2007) 。
