Artist Statement

In this painting I tried to show the visible and the invisible part (with symbols of violence) of world's violence. Sometimes we distinguish easily the symbols, sometimes not, we have to move. The angle we look at the painting is important. It's like a game. In terms of colour I use only white hues and red crossed stripes. The aim is to paint a suite of red X under which will be hidden an item directly linked with violence. Right in the middle we can read "PAIX" in pure white. White is symbolizing Purity, the red who cross each square, symbol of Blood.

In 1972, she moved to Los Angeles where she concentrated on etchings on themes such as Hotel Room, under the skin and lipstick. In San Diego and San Jose, she also exhibited her soft sculptures (whose installation was filmed by French television). While in California, she also executed a series of portraits of film stars. When she returned to Paris in 1985, she continued exhibiting works on paper in Brussels, Antwerp and Amsterdam. She has been creative director the major advertising firm Euro RSCG since 1991.
