Dou Mingya graduated from the Central Academy of Arts & Design in 1970 whose major was textile design. She used to work as a Film Arts Designer and Computer Graphic Designer in Technological Department of Television Center of the Agricultural Film Studio of China.

She is the member of China Film Arts Association, China Animation Association, China Film & Television Art Association, Beijing Female painters Association. Now, Dou Mingya is a professional painter.

Dou Mingya has taken part in a series of art exhibitions in recent year and obtained many rewards. In 2004, Today Gallery held a solo exhibition for her---- “Dou Mingya modern color ink painting”. After that, parts of her art works presented in this exhibition were collected by the gallery, and in the meanwhile, others have been collected by those collectors from Singapore, Taiwan, America, Canada and Malaysia.

窦明亚，1946年生于上海，祖籍江苏宜兴。

1970年毕业于中央工艺美术学院染织艺术设计专业。

曾任中国农业电影电视中心技术部电影美术设计师，电脑动画设计师。

中国电影家协会会员，中国动画协会会员，中国电影电视美术学会会员，北京女美术家联谊会会员。

现为职业画家。

近年来，参加北京的各种画展，获得优秀作品奖。

2004年，在今日美术馆举办个展《窦明亚现代彩墨画展》，部分作品被今日美术馆收藏，大多数作品被新加坡、台湾、美国、加拿大、马来西亚等国收藏家收藏。
