Artist statement The tranquility of an evening walk around a lake began the inspiration for this work, which evolved as an attempt to express women’s universal longing for this “Dream of Peace” on our planet. 宁静的夜里绕着湖边步行给了我了创作这幅画的灵感,我尝试表达全世界女性永远的憧憬-“和平之梦"。 |

Audrey was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1927. After Art and Secretarial studies she travelled and worked in Europe and the United Kingdom, which enabled further private art studies in Galleries and Museums. She returned to Australia, and has undertaken further private tuition from Melbourne artists David Moore and Ron Reynolds. She is a signatory member of the Victorian Artists’ Society, and a member of the Whitehorse Artists’ Association, and has received a number of commendations for her work. As a member of a walking group she has enjoyed the challenge of painting in remote parts of Australia and, more recently, in Canada and Alaska. Her preferred medium is oil, but she also enjoys acrylic, gouache, and pen and wash.
Audrey continues to exhibit widely in
Melbourne and Internationally in conjunction with various groups of
artists, a highlight being a solo exhibition at the City of Whitehorse
Civic Centre in 1999. |
