Artist Statement

Before I stumbled across this wallpaper at the hardware store I had pondered the theme dream of peace for some time. This wallpaper, which others no doubt chose for its peaceful, tranquil qualities, was the jumping off point to bring together the myriad of people, ideas and thoughts that ran through my head whilst I contemplated the theme.

在我还没遇到这种墙纸之前，我一直在思索关于主题-和平之梦 。我选了这墙纸是因为它予人和平安祥的感觉。以这幅作品作为一个起点，把无数的人的理念和思想凝聚在其中，是我对主题的省思。

Ann-Maree Gentile was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1966. As a child she always enjoyed drawing, colouring in, cutting and pasting. Although she never owned a pack of Derwent pencils this never stood in her way. She enjoys making art from whatever is on hand, often experimenting with different materials. She has formal studies in ceramics and a Ba in Aboriginal Studies.
